Oh No Another Custom CNJ Boxcar

    Here is a custom painted CNJ boxcar that I have been working on for awhile.

    Athearn 40’ Boxcar Undecorated (1200)
    Kadee #5 couplers
    Kadee metal wheels

    Painting
    Undercoat: Folk Art Dove Gray (708) thinned 1:1 with blue windshield washer fluid
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Matte (CS200306)
    Final Colors: Folk Art Barnyard Red (611) thinned 2:1 with blue windshield washer fluid
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Gloss (CS200304)
    Dry Transfers: CDS Lettering (HO-95)
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Matte (CS200306)

    Weathering:
    Drybrushing: Folk Art Charcoal Gray (613)
    Wash: Folk Art Charcoal Gray (613) 2 parts; Folk Art Licorice (938) 1 part; thinned 5:1 with blue windshield washer fluid
    Sealer: Testors Dullcoat

    Drybrush: Americana Burnt Sienna

    another great looking piece of rolling stock. It would be nice to see some of these in a long train:) :)

    Thanks everyone.

    I should put all the custom cars in a long train. They are all basically from the same era. One problem is borrowing a digital camera. The other problem is that since I am having so fun doing custom cars I am neglecting my other model railroad projects, such as working on the layout. I still have not started my expansion project that I was going to start in January. I only have about 10% of the layout with scenery. The rest is hard shell or pink foam.
