needs a track plan...

Hi Everyone...
Well, I finally got my HO scale " L " shaped 7ft. x 9 1/2 ft benchwork constructed. The plywood is attached to the joists and I am without an idea for a track plan. My original plan was a total flop and had to abort the idea all together.
If someone could help me out with this I sure would GREATLY appreciate the help.

How about some parameters?

Era? Interests? Prototype railroads you like? Industries or cars you like? Switching? Mainline?

I'm sure you'll find pletny of help, but please supply some more info so people can have something to start with.

We need more information than those dimensions. How wide? Is this just a shelf layout?
