I love Star Trek. Now that I am back into paper modeling, I plan on building all of the different versions of the Enterprise. I've already made the ToS model and now I'm working on the Enterprise A.

    NCC 1701-A (progress)

I've made progress. Engineering hull, main deflector dish, and shuttlebay components. There are some problems with the model, but they are very subtle. It's coming together quickly.

You sure have everything looking nice and square. That's a great basis for a model. :)

Very nice so far. You should check out Rawen's HUGE and detailed refit connie.

Catastrophe! I finished the lower half of the saucer, got the ring halves in and test fitted the top half of the saucer onto the lower only to see that the top half is almost a quarter inch bigger than the bottom.
The further I got into the model, the more inconsistencies I began to notice about the template. The bridge ring didn't fit, and the topmost section of the bridge had gaps in the back.
This was the final problem. I have abandoned this model. I will make another one once I find a better template for the 1701-A.

Wow, that sucks! Who's model is this? Is it something you have done, or a printer setting?

The parts, especially the fully-toothed rings, strongly suggest Shunichi Makino's first version. But the top and bottom discs are actually intended to be different, since the saucer is shaped like a conic frustum, not a cylinder.

Yeah, the catastrophe was my fault. I neglected to test-fit the top and bottom of the saucer before glueing. A lesson learned. By the time I had the ring glued in, at a ninety degree angle to the bottom of the saucer, it was too late to salvage the parts. Since I was'[t real happy with the model anyway, I scrapped it. I'll do another one once I find a template I'm happier with.

Hello modellers, here I am again (somewhat absent).
If I am not mistaken this is the model of the Enterprise NCC1701A Makino (1:1700), when I made the model for almost 2 years I had no problems adjusting the parts, I leave the link here, say hello to everyone.

My dear friend Zathros, I was a bit misconfigured and outdated, I made some models but my camera was damaged, and bought another, soon I'll be uploading pictures of my latest work, plus I was out of my country for work but we are back , the strength of the paper is greater than one, a hug.

Lo siento! Es bueno oír de usted. Es difícil salir de casa, sobre todo al salir de la familia.:)

I can sympathize! It's good to hear from you. It's hard to leave home, and most of all, family. :)
