You are right about them being light. So far it has not hurt their performance for me.

Do those have the Kato drive?
My brother has a Kato RSD and it's a nice running loco.

I've always been impressed by the running qualities of Atlas locos. I model the '30's in HO, but every once in a while, I timeshift the era to late '50's just to be able to run my Atlas diesels: I have an S4, RS3, and two RS11's plus some remotored Athearn SW1200RS's. I also have some Model Power FA's and a couple that have been rebuilt into an FPA4/FPB4 pair for passenger trains. The best part is that they all doublehead well with my steam engines, especially the Bachmann 2-8-0's.
