Life Like extra Parts in package

I purchased a Life like gp18 New and it has all kinds of extra scrap parts in a bag, but no where do i find where they are suppose to go, any one help with this?
Im really stuck with a part that looks like a venting grid rather hugh for HO standards doesnt fit really anywhere expect the roof...

They're probably "Prototype specific" parts. If you are modeling a specific road, these parts help you build the model to that roads options that came with the loco. A couple of manufacturers are including these parts with new locos for the "rivet counter" modeler.
If you want to build a proto specific loco http://rr-fallenflags.org is a great palce to find a pic of your loco.
If your not palnning on using the parts..Save them...Come in handy for scratchbashing buildings or other rolling stock.
