James the Red Engine!

Woohoo!!! I saw on Brooklyn Locomotive Works site that they are now selling Tomix's N-scale James, from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends! I have the Tomix Thomas, and he's a pretty good runner for such a small engine. Do I see a Christmas present coming from my lovely wife?

I think I will stick with waiting for the Atlas Dash8-40b or putting money aside for another SD90 or 2 atlas SD60Ms.

I sincerely doubt that it will be a very good runner. Thomas runs OK for such a small steam loco, but certainly not well enough for "normal" operation. Also, is it me, or is James' firebox too small?

Never owned little Thomas or James. Did you ever get Thomas's wheels "Back in sync"?

A REALLY good runner (runs as good as a diesel) is the Kato C57 "Yamaguchi Go". Has a neat smoke deflector. Looks AWESOME upclose. I converted it to MTs with the 1129 kit.
