This weekend is the grocery store trek. My daughter has cheerleading practice on Sunday, her competition is next Saturday. She will be playing Silent Night on the flute on Sunday as part of the morning church service and this coming Tuesday is her Winter Concert at school. I also have some Christmas shopping to do. The good thing about it is that one of the stores is next to one of my favorite hobby shops.

I hope to continue working on the farm house. I have a Mantua Pure Oil tank car to finish weathering. I also am working on two Athearn 2-bay hoppers (Southern composite side, Virginian ribbed side), an Athearn B&O caboose, and a MDC/Roundhouse CNJ 2-bay covered hopper.

To night is our local OTTS meeting (Ohio Toy Train Summit). It is just several of us local O gaugers that get together every couple of weeks and run trains on each others layout. Tonight is it on my pike. :thumb: If anyone is in the Cleveland area and wish to join us, let me know. :D

Well lets see, It is snowing here so I will be trying my hands at a little scene I had planned out last night. It will have a cottage and a few trees around it. Just a basic little scene that's all. Can't do nothing outside so I will have to do it inside.

 Have A Safe & Wonderful Weekend Everyone

I'll be at the Prescott resort (Bucky's Casino) Saturday helping set up and running our clubs N scale modular layout.
We will also be displaying our modular On30 layout, 3 rail O scale and G gauge layouts.
If anyone happens to be in the area stop in and check it out.

Also got a shipment of 30 motors to play with. That should keep me busy Sunday.

Tom...

Are you sure you should not title this thread "Weekend plans - what the kids are up to"? You sure have a busy bunch!! ;) :D

As far as trains, well the real thing has a few goings on around here. The CPR Christmas train rolls through Friday night at about 10:30, which is really late, but then spends the day in Smiths Falls. The railway museum is open all day, and the train deprts at dusk. Hopefully we can check that out. I know my 4 year-old will enjoy it.

Need to do a bit of work on new module frames too.

Nothing really specific planned for this weekend.

I'd like to spend some time on the Matthysen sub, probly get some time on the 2TRAK tomorrow evening.

Somewhere along the line I need to paint the two remaining quads and work on their drawbars cause I'm not to happy with the way they take curves.

Good news! I passed my road test for my Class 3 drivers license this past thursday so no more driving lessons. but now I've got to find a better job to use the license, so tonight I'm working on my resume to start looking next week. Hoping to find a driving job with moderate lifting (no heavy stuff)
Anyway back to what the weekend holds, tomorrow I'm working on my downstairs bathroom, installing gyprock and a new door frame that my father-in-law has made. In the afternoon we'll be over at the in-laws, I'll be changing the oil in the old dodge winter car and then we'll be having dinner over there. No real plans for sunday, probably working on the layout. The enginehouse is still on hold due to parts still in the mail. I'll probably be working on some scenery, maybe the DPM harley and sons kit, the main building is done, just got to work on the many metal castings that came with it.

Saturday, we go up north and slaughter a Christmas tree. Sunday, my father's coming over for dinner.
And in between, I'm building a table for my wife's train (Polar Express).I've done all the woodwork and am priming/painting the wood and the foam top.

Bummer there isn't a CP Christmas train-thingie around these parts. Even if someone like CSX did, it wouldn't come on the silly little branchline that runs through the suburbs a few miles down the road.

As for modeling, besides my progress tonight, I hope to get the station detailed some more, and continue construction on the gravel road and gluing the scenery down.

If E-bay counts, I need to pick up some more stuff my LHS didn't have today. ;)

Have a good weekend. :thumb:

Changing out some window blinds that we haven't been too thrilled with. That's got to take up the best part of the weekend. Nothing train-related planned, although I do expect some alien activity on my 2005 challenge diorama in my train room, so I will be keeping an eye on things there. :D

Need to go to work for a few hours today, then who knows. I'm going to play it by ear, but I'll probably get some quality time with the layout sometime this weekend. I have given my wife the "official run-around" (the layout) and she thought it was neat, so it looks like I have the thumbs up. Have to keep the head home environmentalist happy.

If anything, I will probably be fine tuning track and adding wiring and testing and maybe some temporary building placements
