IJN Akitsushima (almost finished)

Hi all,

Akitsushima, been started year ago. I'd like to finish her soon.
This is Answers kit 1:200 scale, model size: lenght: 60 cm, width: 8 cm, height: 18 cm









I have some details to do, lifeboats, mast of stern with crane and flying boat Emily.

Yes, it's rings of brass wires 0,2 mm, good looking but not realistic
If I start Aki now, I won't make it.

Beautiful build! Is the grey area of the deck the texture from the model or did you add something? It looks very realistic! Your time spent on this one is well worth it! Great job!

The grey area of the deck is from the kit with nothing added. For the brown part I made brass batten from brass wire 0,2 mm glued in the gaps. The gaps were cut out with scalpel.

Flying boat Kawanishi H8K 'Emily', one of the biggest aircrafts of WW II. Even in 1:200 scale is big (14 cm lenght, 19 cm width)

Every ship can be build as waterline cardmodel, Akitsushima too. Yuo may cut off the underwater part of any ship kit, if you wish.
