This is an old Bachmann N-scale gondola that I repainted and decaled. I started this project several years ago and set it aside. I found it this afternoon when I was sorting through my big pile of "stuff."

I would like to put new trucks on it. The original trucks were screwed into the bottom through the long "posts", which gave the gon the appearance of riding on air. I could trim them back, but I have had trouble in the past getting the bolster pins to stick in. Also, once the posts are trimmed, they will probably be too short to accept the original screws. Any ideas?

I would...

...imagine you could whack the "posts" off and replace the trucks with M-Ts or other manufacturers using just a king pin. If not, I'm sure you can find self-tappers for plastic at your LHS? If all else fails- it'll make a good drill bit holder.
