The last time I was in Quesnel, BC, I came accross this big steam engine. Okay, I suppose it's a steam shovel, but it dose run on rails. The Rails are 12 feet apart (hows that for a gauge :eek: ) The men would remove the rails behind the machine and assemble them in front of it as it chewed its way through the gold fields. This was (or is) a mining machine, although I think it could be used to build roads as well.

Now here's one for shamus to build! ;) :rolleyes:

Thanks, TC. Use to go to steam tractor shows when I was a kid, one of my teenaged friends even owned a small tractor himself. We also have a local show down here that feature the occasional stationary shingle cutter or sawmill. Ohhhh yeah, anything steam... :thumb:
