The Falcon Heavy launched put it's payload successfully into orbit and landed 2 out of 3 boosters on Feb 6, 2018. A true engineering marvel. AXM has created another incredible model commemorating this flight. Build thread to follow.
Elon Musk, a deserter from a Horrid regime, runs into the Arms of America, make himself out of nothing, and now is paving the way in space,on the roads, and bringing battery technology up to par. This man is surely one of the greatest genius's of this age.
From beginning to end. There were some updates I was able to accommodate. Sadly AXM's fairing 2.0 came out when I was way too far to go back. I might do an addendum at some point. Enjoy the build.
The updated version of the roadster came out shortly after I started the original without Starman. Forturnately, I was building the payload separate from the rocket so this would up working out.
After building the fairings and payload, I decided to start on the left booster. No particular reason for the decision. Here are the new titanium grid fins.
I found that building the engine mount on the base of the rocket was far easier than building it on the back of the motor mount. 9 motors down, 18 to go.
Back to the center booster. The original fairing design by Alfonso is so that it can be removed, as I plan to build the rocket as a solid model so, a little bit of scratch build helped with the assembly. Everything fit nice and tight quite happy with the results.
