So while flipping through the satellite channels this past weekend - I noticed they were showing an episode of Pierre Berton's CBC epic 'The National Dream' (for those not familiar..it was a docu-drama about how the railroad was built west in the 1800's).

I hadn't seen this since my grade 5 days and my first Minitrix N scale set.
I have tried to find it released in VHS or DVD formats...I have even tried to contact the CBC.
Anyone else have any ideas on how to find a copy of this ?

I'd be interested to find out more info on this as well, i.e. whether it's available on DVD, etc. I think I might have seen it when I was younger as well. Thanks, Rob

A search of the cbc.ca and nfb.ca did not turn it up - odd... I would be interested in seeing this too, as I could never quite make it through the books... ;)

It's actually 2 books, The National Dream and The Last Spike. Good reading if you have the time. My dad has a condensed version where they combined the 2 books, and it has a bunch of pictures from the CBC special.
