I am aware of what DC power is, but I have never heard of DCC. What is DCC and how does it differ from DC?

Thanks.

DCC is digital command control. IT allows the controller to communicate directly with the locomotive to control speed and direction, rather than varying the voltage and polarity of the track.

Check out The Gauge's DCC forum and look up the helpful links thread at the top.
