Custom Wood Boxcar: Lehigh Valley

    Here is my latest completed project. It is a Lehigh Valley wood sheathed boxcar.

    List of Materials
    Athearn 40’ Wood Boxcar Undecorated (5230)
    Kadee #5 couplers
    Undercoat: Folk Art Dove Gray (708) thinned 1:1 with blue windshield washer fluid
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Matte (CS200306)
    Final Colors: Folk Art Barnyard Red (611) thinned 2:1 with blue windshield washer fluid
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Gloss (CS200304)
    Dry Transfers: CDS Lettering (HO-682(a))
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Matte (CS200306)

    Weathering:
    Drybrushing: Folk Art Dark Gray (426)
    Wash: Folk Art Dark Gray (426) 2 parts; Folk Art Licorice (938) 1 part; thinned 5:1 with blue windshield washer fluid
    Sealer: Testors Dullcoat

    Trucks:
    Paint: Folk Art Dark Gray 426
    Drybrush: Americana Burnt Sienna
    Sealer: Testors Dullcoat

    Wheels:
    Paint: Americana Burnt Sienna mixed with Folk Art Bright Peach (682) 1:2
    Sealer: Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer-Matte (CS200306)

    nice look. The materials and mix information are a very good touch. It makes the job a bit less intimidating for those of us that didn't do so well in Chemistry. I hate to mix things.:)
