drip.....drip...drip...
that is my building speed at the moment.
im working in the garden and ripping some trees out...that is hard work...still 40m to go :)

so my Ywings go somewhat slower.

this is the status untill now.

i know but not THAT slow :-D

Well i started with detailing the backside of the cockpit module.
The mainbody is almost done for 98% i think.. for the red y wing...
for the other one i need to do some more details but that is for when i completed the cockpits and maybe the engines.

The first cockpit module is attached to the rest of the ship.
i placed the ship in upright position and hope that the cockpit will stay nice and straight untill the glue is ready.

Then i can see if the cockpit will stay like this when i put him again in flight position.

But it looks awesome..:)

next is the other y wing

:) thanks

at the moment i'm really hard thinking how to do the engines..
i have the tubes with the halve eggs...
but how to install....that is my problem now.
the real deal has the tube in 2 pieces..
and reinforcements inside.
i want that also....but when i cut the tube to 2 pieces....i never get them back to one..(nicely)
i would love to have a mounting point (as the real deal has) but when i do that..
i never can detach the engines for transport.

i also want to be able to lift up the ship when holding the engines...so they should be attached firmly to the ship..(and that one is heavy!)

that is the thing i'm trying to figure out what to do.

update/

I installed the eggs on the tubes...
but they didn;t fit perfectly so i used a kind of glue that became a soft silicone that i wanted to grind untill it was smooth...that didn't work it was to flexible..
so i took it off.
Now i used some kind of putty and made the eggs nicer...not perfect but for a beat em up ship i think perfect. and there will come some part on so very much of the imperfection you will not see.
The mounting point in the engines is canceld...so the only point is in the back of the main fuselage.
I just completed the rods for the engines, first i wanted to buy them..but now i build them out of carton. i hope they can carry the rudder....or how do you name the steering thing at the back of ship?
also made a piece of carton for the engine's so that they stay on the main fuselage.

Maybe i have enough time tomorrow to install the rods ON the engines....but i have to see.

Still no pictures..these will come when i have the new camera.

Ok the Rods are not installed on the ship because of the exhaust ports of the engines..
when i install the rods i cannot work ont those ports...so they have to wait.

What i did is making a inside of the 2 engines so that they stay more fixed to the mainbody.

Just for future consideration, I think you should make a full size speeder (the gravity bike) That would be awesome.

Don't Laugh but i really thought about that...
Maybe not live size but in the size i normally build (large) :)
There is a nice speederbike with a scouttrooper, which looks awesome...

But first i have to complete the snowspeeder and ywings...and then....

another step again..
the engine start to become nice..
now I have to detail them...and insert the star shape inside...
maybe I had to do that before I attached the cone shape endcap...

but that is something for the nexttime to worry about.
but fot now they look nice. :)

A model of this magnitude needs no apologies. :)

Yes the beams are installed..nice and straight i think
the lenght looks correct, now i hope they don't get droopy :)
8783

now detailing the hull of the engines.....the rudder at the end of the beams....and ready :) that sounds fast, but the build is i think a little much slower :)

one time i woke up with the stupid idea to build all the y wings... 5 or 6 are there.
i was clever enough to just build 2...(or still stupid enough) :)

And now i am building 2 and gladly i see the finish-line.
I hope i can finish them....at the moment i'm reconstructing the garden..and the evenings are now relaxing after a day hard working.
