BLI SW7 w/sound & dcc performance?

I just received my BLI, C&O SW7. I am playing around with it in dc and wondering if it will perform better with dcc. The biggest problem is that it has to go through start up every time I reverse direction. This is quite a pain since it will be constantly switching. Will performance change if I convert to dcc? Thanks Charlie. I'm in the process of switching from n scale to HO and sound and DCC are all brand new to me. Thanks again for your help. OK, I just tried it again after looking at the instructions. Beautiful! If it had fur I'd take it to bed with me. Thanks again.
