Best Camp Site

Thread in the model area got me to thinking about my favorite real camp sites. I'd have to say this cabin, owned by a friend of mine, is at the top of the list. It's located along the former B&O about a half hour northwest of Cumberland.

What a fabulous place Brian, I bet it's no accident he built that wooden "tent" there. The setting looks heavenly! Some people have all the luck

That's great! A case of real life imitating the model? Well, probably not. That former B&O right of way was there a long time before I laid my HO rails and the camp site over looking them.

The Amtrak train I shot there turned out to be rather famous. It derailed about three hours after passing us in suburban Washington. Here's a story on it from ABC News...
