I dont know if anyone lives close to BC or not but theres plenty of people here that can walk you through the basics of bench construction as it is realitivly easy.

Theres also websites that will help you but I dont know where our website guy is. He'll be here soon though.

What do you need to know?

What kind of bench do you want to build?

Do you have a lay-out plan?

I was in the process of moving...now I'm trying to catch up!

I go away for a couple of days and WHAM the board fills up with posts! Were ya'll just waitin' fer me to leave? :)

The custom builders are generally pretty expensive. But if you're willing to pay to have the benchwork built, you can probably hire a carpenter.

But if you're just looking for someone with experience who can help you in person...well...that's another story! (I'm from Texas AND I'm not experienced with building benchwork, so I guess I'm out).

Anyway, here are some links to custom builders. Might be fun to browse at the very least!

http://www.shelflayouts.com/ - This guy's layout was in Model Railroader recently. Very realistic scenery!

http://www.rslayouts.com/ - Doesn't serve anywhere in Canada, but they have nice pictures.

http://www.raildreams.com/ - Cool web page.

http://www.progressivemodeldesign.com/ - Check out the 4x8 layout that folds into the cabinet!
