I have the conrail dash 8 and i would like it too be stronger than it is, where can i add weight and where does it go? or is there any other thing i can do?

I had one that didn't pull well. I found out that the side frame brackets were dragging on the rails.
I removed the side frames and filed the brackets and that solved the problem.

I know i have a little dip in the track and the fuel tank did scrape the track ,but i want to make it heavier so it will pull more,

The bottom and side part of the trucks.
The ones on mine weren't molded right and they dragged on the rails.
Look on the bottom of the trucks and see if there are any rub marks. If there aren't this may not be a problem with yours.

I have several of these engines and they run real good. After looking at one of them ,about the only way to add weight would be to cast the fuel tank in lead or some other metal. That should gain you some tractive effort.

It runs good just needs to be heavier, i have a (hill) on my track so it does go up hill , i will probally take that out and just have a level track.
