I was looking through the Micro mark website, and for pure randomness I went looking through the O scale high rail stuff there from Williams/ Bachman. they have a O high rail version on the peter Dewit streetcar, and while I was looking at it, I noticed a link to some folks who make scale replacement wheels.
with scale wheels, all you would need would be good working O scale trolley poles, a little rewiring, and you could replace the center rail with an over head wire, and O scale traction could be in reach!
I have too many irons in the fire myself, but I hope somebody does this.
