    This is ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!
You did a PHENOMENAL JOB on the service station!
I am looking forward to seeing it in the diorama!

I'm also very interested to see how you progress with this build... It looks wonderful, of course, and right now I'm working my way towards a late-40's/early 50's gas station and hot-rod shop... kind of a service station/garage run by gearheads, you know? I have more accessories and extras for cars than anything else, so I feel I can really fill out the scene.

Have you decided on your gas pumps yet? I'm very interested to see what you do for those... There are so many beautiful ones--- those vintage gas pump collectors are really on to something. Personally, I'm very happy to get to model them, rather than kick out the dollars the real ones go for!

Really looking forward to seeing the build progress; keep up the great work that you do!

Very well done and I love that antiquing look to the boards. Is this all wood or mixed media with laminated card stock boards.

This would make a fantastic part of a diorama indeed! Put some vintage cars around it or a giant truck that has seen the wilderness of the American Highways. Absolutely stunning work! :)

    Thanks so much. !!!
This is not a very large diorama. 24x12 inch. The original idea was to make a module for my layout in gauge one. But at last I decide to make a isolated diorama.

All is done with wood, except the roof tiles. Are made with cardboard.

Thanks so much Isarmann for your comment and take your time to post it.

About the gas pump, I don't know exactly what to do. I have a bunch of vintage pictures, but still in choice process.
Whatever, I would like to try to build the gas pump with scratch.
And about the cars.... I have 3 or 4 units ready to put, and one very interesting and unusual in dioramas.
    Again, thank you very much
    Regards,

    Xavier

Maybe you could go for one of the gas pumps with the big glass cylinders. Maybe you could use a test tube? I really like this slice of history you have made. :)

You're welcome, Xavier... and thank you, in turn, for sharing your work with us.

You might already be aware of them, but if not, I'd like to offer the suggestion that you check out the guys over at Model Junkyard--- they do beautiful work, all scratchbuilt, and have been working on some of the very same subjects lately... Subscription to their newsletter gets you access to some of their e-books of techniques, and exclusive downloads from time to time (free roadsigns just today; I just got them). One of their documents I have covers how they went about a scratchbuilt gas pump in styrene. I wouldn't say any of it was make-or-break in importance, but it's informative, and they really do achieve a nice result.
