    Snow Plow

However, at the time, apparently the designer (Zio Prudenziati) was very ill. Dewayne became ill himself, and at some point the railroad kits (which were sold on CD rom) were discontinued. Considerable troubled water seems to have gone under the bridge since then....I don't know of any current...

    Snow Plow

I thought I'd show some pics of the Prudenziati snow plow kit I built over the weekend. Someday I'm hoping to make this part of a diorama, but have a lot of building to do first.

Attention ship card modelers from IPMS/USA!

Rusty, do you have a provision for proxy entries? I can afford to mail a model to the event, but UPS frowns upon a person curling up in one of their shipping boxes in order to make the cross-country trip to the expo.

    HG Watkins USS Tennessee

I believe Watkins kits are 1:350 scale....a bit of an oddball.

Quiet, but not Idle. A couple small ships...

Yes, Loretta, there is a Nimitz out there.....believe Wilhelmshaven puts it out in 1:250 scale. However, it is very pricy. Even on Ebay I haven't seen it go for much less than $100.

Class N6B Mae West Cabin Car

For several years now, I've been looking at the Pennsylvania RR cabooses (cabise?) in the Paper Models International catalog. Upon learning that PMI is soon to be history unless a buyer steps up, I finally ordered the kits. The subject for this review is the Class N6B Mae West Cabin Car...

    H.G. Watkins USS Houston question

:oops::oops::oops:Big senior moment. The Helena wasn't a Watkins kit....it was an enlargement/redraw of the JSC Helena model. Must have gotten it mixed up with the Mogami redraw I was doing at the same time. :mrgreen:The good news is, while looking for the non-existant Watkins Helena, I...

    H.G. Watkins USS Houston question

I'm glad to see the amount of interest out there in the old Watkins line. I have the USS Erie (gunboat), IJN Fubuki, IJN Mogami, IJN Natori, IJN Yugumo, USS Pensacola, USS Houston, USS Helena, USS Blue, and Submarines Surcouf, Growler, and Regent. Eibwarrior, I have a suspicion I was the...

    Source for anchor chain

Check the jewelry section of stores like Michaels, Roberts, or Ben Franklins. They usually have packets of chain in about three foot lengths. I think I've seen it at Squadron Hobbies online store.

    JSC 1:400 HMS Dragon Build

Ski, I cured the waving problem by laminating all decks to 0.5 mil cardboard (my favorite source is Coke cartons). I even go so far as to back the superstructure bulkheads with cardboard as well, even in 400 scale. In order to maintain proper fit, you sometimes have to trim down the framework...

    New Merkava Mk2 1/33 scale

Jules, would you please reactivate/resend the Merkavia download link email? The one you sent took be to a page stating the downloads were already used/time expired. Unfortunately, that email got deleted from the mailbox, so I can't try seeing if maybe you managed to get the download link...

    USS Tarawa LHA1 1/200

Barry, I notice you didn't include Bill Gates in your Kudos.

    What scale(s) do you prefer?

I'm glad you couched the question as to what scale I prersonally prefer, not which I think is the "best" (whatever that is). My personal preferance is 1/250, mainly because most of the kits in the "someday" pile happen to be Wilhelmshaven, and I would like to wind up with a fleet as much as...

    1mm cardstock... where in calfornia?

Depending on your budget, there are several options. The easiest is to go to www.papermodelstore.com and order it. My latest order included both 1 mm and 2 mm cardboard 11 x 17 sheets of cardboard that looks just perfect for paper modeling (though may raise hell with Xacto blades, as it is...

    ORLIK "Albatros B-I

Peter, what you do to hiss him off? I've always gotten a bonus in my orders...then again, most of my orders are fairly hefty. I also made an order during the weekend, and it arrived today. Included the Albatros...it is a tanfastic model. My wife even likes the way it looks. I also got in a...
