    Scrapyard picture

I was trying out my new dremel tool when I did that! The next thing I need is a workman with an acetylene torch beside it.

    Scrapyard picture

I finished off my HO scrapyard today. I started with some plaster castings of some scrap piles, added some castings and steam loco parts and some Alloy forms junk cars. The castings were first sprayed with a charcol black and then an overspray of rust when everything was on the ground. The...

    Next Loblaws/PC Trainset?

Actually The last set (the big ten) sold out so fast that I ony saw them once in the stores before they were gone. My club was fortunate to get one before they were gone. The Hudson set from the previous year was over-produced and at the end the stores were giving them away for 49.99. If they...

    Spiders, Spiders, everywhere....Help!

I wouldn't bomb the garage. Instead get a couple of those spider traps to keep them in check. I've never had a problem with spiders on my layout (It's in the basement) Shadow, my cat takes care of anything that would crawl on the gound and is smaller than he is!

    CPR Lake tug finished

I'm pretty sure there is one, but I can't remember the name of the company that makes it. From my memory you can buy the bow and stern sections and then buy the center sections seprately so you can make a bulk freighter as long or short as you want.

    CPR Lake tug finished

Thanks guys the pic is from my home layout and it's small (2'X1') harbour. Thanks to both Sumpter250 and Wayne for the soldering advice. It'll come in handy for my other projects. I'm probably going to add a few more deck details like ropes and chains since it does look a little bare right now.

Building a 40s auto transport Truck

The trailer is really nice. Does anyone remember the old Revell auto transporter with the cab-over truck? I think it's a fifties model and it has an open-frame trailer. I also like the older conventional cab trucks, they just seem to look 'right' compared to the cab-overs.

Beautiful work so far. The ability to restore such a great model is a talent that I wish I had.

    The Mother Lode

The Dynometer car can be used as a current prototype. Canadian Pacific has one that dates back to the 1930's at least.

    E.Suydam Kits

Our club has the sawmill kit on it's layout. It's nice but I find it a bit dated compared to what is available now.
