    Peco Electrofrogs

Hmmm, my first post here in quite a while and this is what I find. Thanks for reminding me why it's rarely worthwhile discussing DCC topics on forums.

    Peco Electrofrogs

Ted, I have found that Peco Insulfrog turnouts work beautifully with DCC without modification. I have no such joy with Electrofrogs. Is there a reason you don't want to use Insulfrog turnouts?

Using real scenery as a backdrop

Ron asked me how I did the backgrounds for my work train shots so here is a brief explanation. I made a simple portable diorama that was quite flat, as seen in this photo. This is placed it on a handy fence post and the train is put on the track. Composing the photo from a low angle...

Britannia Creek Work Train Hello fellas, I have been busy over at the Railroad Line forum but have finished my first major project, with lots of advice and encouragement from Casey and the crew of RR-L so may I show off what I have completed?

    Digital Camera Poll

A quick update on my Dimage purchase. I originally stated: 'I ...just purchased a Dimage 7Hi...at a place called Costco.' I though it best to check about the VAT refund requirements before arriving at the airport. To cut a long story short the Costco store don't have the appropriate forms...

Who or What Got You Started?

A bit late to catch up with the tread but it is such a good one please indulge me in adding to it now. I must have missed it somehow. Great to read them all. I have my five year old daughter to thank. Suzie asked for a model train for Christmas 2002 and I came across the Hogwart's Express on...

    Digital Camera Poll

A pleasure Casey, the camera certainly seems to have all and more than what I will need. I like the range of the lense. Now I can at least join in a bit with some photo postings. I am initially modelling an English landscape and farm buildings. An Australian timber yard will follow. Will that...

    Airbrush advice needed

Someone from Canada or the US could give a better idea of local value but if it helps I paid about A$600 (or about $540 Canadian) for a double action top-end Aztec and compressor. If they are similar then that sounds like a good buy. Ask to have a test spray before buying it just to be sure it...

    Digital Camera Poll

Revisit of tread... What Digital accessories are used? Interesting to find this tread as I was just about to post a similar one. Other than the camera and software, what other accessories are useful? For example tripods or off-camera lighting. I asked Casey a while back what photographic...

    Who is running DCC?

I started out almost immediately with DCC and am very glad I did. The brand almost doesn't matter as I am sure they all have their strengths and weaknesses. It is a personal choice, of course, as to what will suit you best. As it all was new to me I started out with a 3 amp Roco Starter set...

    Greenway Products

Hello Bob, Gary and everyone, I received the Stewart FT model from Greenway Products very promptly. Greenway only charged me the standard US shipping fee, even though it cost them a lot more than that to get it to my address in Australia. Very nice of them. They were very pleasant to deal...

    Erie Diesel

Hi Woodie, A real shame about the flooding. The layout looked really good. When do you start another? I have received the Stewart F A&B units and was brave enough to respray them in VicRail blue/yellow with appropriate decals. I know it isn't 'exactly' an S Class but it looks the part for...
