Yamaha MT-01 Ultra Realistic build

Hello there ^^ haven't posted for what seems like a loooonnngg time ^^ but been busy with work, also my hands on my differents builds an dalso be geeking like hell in Diablo III (hohoho).

So just like the tittle says it i've started building the ultra realistic MT-01 that you can found on yamaha's official site long with a new one the V-Max ^^

so here are the first pics, it's my first time on a project with so much details and I hope it'll turn out good.

and that's it ^^
I think it will take some time to complete (giving the fact that i'm also building Lightning from Paper-Ace and Uhu02's Ironman. Pics coming soon )
Please feel free to give me any advices or if you notice something i didn't ^^

Wow! That is some really clean work! Amazing! I can't tell from the pics if you colored the edges of the cooling fins, but that would be the only comment, but on that bike, they also came with black cylinder heads with unpainted edges, and some other variations, you could do nothing or anything. That has to be one of the best fin spacing and assemblies I've ever seen! Not one seems to be out of place. Don't drop it, those fins are hard to fix! I've had to Tig Weld a few of them.

You're doing good. Your care for precision is visible and with some more experience you can do great models. Definitely great start for complicated models.

I am currently busy with the V-MAX of which the wheels, engine and the stand are complete.
I am busy with the chassis and there is only one thing that I can say is that the model is going to take a LONG time to build, I have been going at it for about 3-4 months now and I am about 3/4's of the way with the chassis so.....

it is looking good.

Retunga!! Where have you been! It was like you fell off the edge of the world! I am very happy your back, but no pictures!! Retunga, no pictures of your motorcycle, in a nice new thread of it's own?

I have always been here ;-) I check in on a regularly. I am going to start my thread on the VMax, I just want to complete the chassis then there is at least something to show for the 3-4 months

Hi there !! At last engine is finished (it's good that sometimes i can continue building at work hehe)

So let's go with the pics :

First all the engine pieces before assembling it

Now let's continue with the assembling step by step ^^

And now at last pics of the complete engine. Honnestly I'm amazed at the size of it ^^. It's gonna be big one once finished ^^

That's it !
You can see there's some space left between the parts of the base (did my best to leave less space possible). but in the end i think it turned out pretty good.

I'll make the side covers and put some pics and after i'll put this project on the side just to let me finish waiting project (like the A-Wing )

So stay tuned and as usual i'm all opened for advice and comments !

So here's a good update on the MT-01...
Have been accupied a lot by work and preparing my holidays in september... so i wasn't very active lately on the forum...

So first, The Tires : Front and Rear

Here's the Front Tire almost finished with parts of the Rear one

Here's the brake plates... I even went as far as to pierce the little holes with my Dremel... haha

Now we'll continue with the Side Covers and left over parts of the engine that will be used in the final assembly...

I want to build one of these. I have been thinking of using Liquid Electrical Tape for the wheels. When it dries, it looks just like rubber.

Model is looking good, the wheels on the mt-01 is a bit different to the v-max in that it has tread pattern as the v-max does not. I can say one thing about the frame take your time with that, in the end it will be worth it.

I am going to continue with my V-max, I have been busy at some other project of mine that I have been delaying for quite sometime. but now with out of the way, time to get the handle bars done.

I am building a 1975 Honda CB400f, in 1:1 Scale. it is taking me some time, and it is made of metal, but I will be able to ride it. It looks very much like this, and has this engine, which is very rare. I am looking for a suitable modern day suspension to graft onto it. Mine has the full blow 458 cc X3 Engine, and the hand bent dyno tuned exhaust, custom made smooth bore carbs by Kazio Yoshima himself, and gold anodized aluminum D.I.D. rims which I laced. I was clocked at 135 mph on this bike. I was much thinner at that time.

That is a sweet bike, hope it goes well. I've loved Hondas my entire life and all my bikes were Hondas. Unfortunately, my disability made me give up riding, but I still keep my bike cert on my license. Now, if I can just get my dad to get his VTX running.

I have no business riding bikes, but still do. I was involved in a bad industrial accident. I have over 300,000 miles of motorcycles. I also have around 220 hrs. of solo time in a Piper Warrior. Sometimes, you do have to give things up though. I used to sail 10 meter boats. I loved sailing but just stepping on a 10 meter boat makes my back go crazy. I purchased that Honda CB400F new, as I did my GS 750 ESD (made only 1 year) and that I still ride at least every week. I don't see the writing on the wall for bikes yet. I did for flying and sailing, though i plan to build an open hull day sailer with my son, maybe even a proa!
