X-Wing Diorama

I think a lot of people have seen the assembly process of X-Wing from uhu02, and it makes no sense to show the main points of the assembly.
II decided to upgrade the model by adding lighting to it. Was added headlights to the wings and some of the screens in the cockpit. Unfortunately I was not able to implement full cockpit lighting, due to the very limited space inside.

The most difficult thing was to stretch the wires from the 4 LEDs from the wings to the cockpit, the mechanism for opening the wings interfered very much.

And now, the most interesting part. The X-wing and the hangar area are independently powered.







The Xwing contains on the board a 3.7 v Li-Po battery, and there is also a charging unit.



The diorama contains only battery without charging unit.

And some elements of diorama. I found some of the elements on the Internet, some are the dead electronics parts. Part of the crates and lighting lamps created by myself.

Also, I did not begin to make cannon barrels according to the instructions, I assembled only one, and I did not like it. I decided to replace some of the barrel elements with metal.

The diorama and the model are still incomplete. It remains to finish minor elements, and at least one wall, or maybe two.

You did a FANTASTIC JOB on this project! I like the bent canon that is to the side. The lighting is always a great touch.

How to find free time, I will share the plans of the boxes and lamps for the diorama that I did myself. I just need to make it in a normal printed file and make at least some assembly instructions.

In the process of assembling the next model with lighting, I will try to describe the main points. It's so difficult to write a lighting lesson right away, I need to think about what the main points need to be described. To begin with, the main task is to learn how to simply solder wires. But I will think and try to describe everything in detail.

Realy nice diorama, lighting is wery atmospheric

You could power it with Solar Panels, and use light detector to turn it on when it gets dark. That way it would have no carbon foot print. It would be neat to see a diorama operating in complete isolation like that. It would come on and off for years. AA solar Panel array would not need be very big. Beautiful Diorama's, the ultimate graceful conclusion to any model project.
