Well, I got back from the WPM meet around 9PM PST last night. Was a new experience, lots of interesting stuff to look at, and the intermodal presentation was dead on. I shot around 250 photos.

Met a few new people (including the guy who does the Q&A section of the Streamliner (UPHS's magazine). I got his email, going to get myself some more info towards my UP excursion fleet.

Met a few guys who're interested in having me detail their Dash 9's too. Lots of oohing & awwing there. The detail re-work on mine impressed them the most.

Handed out some Model Railroad Tips cards too.

Discussed the detailing troubles of building the ES44DC I'm working on (I'll post it later on tonight). Also discussed the issues with finding an BNSF New Image ES44DC!

TONS and TONS of nice raffle prizes. Didn't win one. The two younger kids won about 1/2 of the prizes!!! Was really hoping to win the Hobby Tote.

And here's what I bought (not to include the MPEX unit, as I did not shoot it while I was there).

UP E9 Trio:

Up C6044AC #7391. This is a AC6000 with an AC4400 prime mover. Being built from a BLI AC6000, the single exhaust is from Hi-Tech Details.

BNSF 4723, the Train Simulator unit.

BNSF 7515, ES44DC. The grabs on the hood side have been removed, and the heat exchanger (between the cooling grid, and exhaust) has been raised up (scratch built). Plow is highly modified from a Details West casting, as there's no appropriate matching plow on the market. There's still a large amount of detailing work left, but those are the 2 key spotting differences (plow is not a trustworthy spotting difference) between the Tower 55 modeled version, and the one I'm modeling. There's only 21 other units in BNSF's inventory that match the one I'm modeling (21 + the one I'm modeling = 22)

I missed that show again this year. I wanted to go, but just could not spare the time this year. For prototype modelers in So Cal, that is probably the best show of the year in So Cal.

I like the red lettering showing through on the SD45 - ugly, but such a familiar sight.
