He can't do that Gary. According to the song, those particular lumberjacks "sleep all night and they work all day." And Shamus, slave-driver that he is, clearly has them working at night.

But then again, they also like to "skip and jump" and "press wildflowers". I'm not sure that Shamus needs "men" like that working for him!
