Anyone know when ditch lights first appeared, and when they came into general use? I realize that the answer probably depends on the railroad, but perhaps someone knows the general timeframe? Thanks, as always, from you experts!

Ditch Lights.
Seems to me that they were introduced in the early 70's here in Canada.
