I'm having some issues with all of the VF models and I am sure that many North Americans will have the very same issues.

A4 Paper Size vs Letter Size.

Many pages are setup so that parts are quite close to the edge of the sheets leading to truncated parts. Some designers who put parts on A4 leave instructions, artist graphics and personal info to the outer edges. When you print to Letter Size the top and or bottom gets cut off which is OK as long as parts are not interfered with.

The solution to this problem is a bit easy. Moving large parts to the center of the sheet and smaller parts out from the center towards the edges. You can get the parts closer together and allow for more parts on a sheet, placing titles, credits and other information to the top and bottom.

I sooooooo want to build at least one of these puppies.

Steve0,

Print at fit to margins and there will be no probs. I just printed out the Hikaru's VF-1J and all fit ok.

Make sure centered setting is on as well.

What is the size diffrence between letter and A4?

for vortex and anyone else that would like to know i found a size chart for ISO 216 paper sizes. so A4 paper is only a little larger than standard letter.

I have to hold my hand up here and say the A4 sheets are my fault. Getter1 wisely suggested Letter but I was a stubborn idiot and went for the standard over here (UK).

I have learnt however and will put larger borders to ensure this doesn't hinder future builds.

I don't really want to mess about too much with Shunichi's sheets and changing sheet 2 on all the fighter models would be a nightmare now.

Hey Janx, I for one would rather see new models than new rearrangements of existing ones. Forget that I made any suggestions at all.

There are plenty work arounds anyway.

Can we have other volunteers work on the rearrangements and free the artists from the mundane and tedious?

Yeah... i really do not like the idea of printing to fit, guess I am SOL.

I've found on occasion that print to fit doesn't work :curse:. This happens when the original image size varies from page to page. What I do now is print all pages to a fixed percentage, say 93%. So far this has produced good results for me, your mileage may vary

57TM,

True, I have had the happen on a few occasions :( I now check page size before I print any model.

However on these the parameters are all identical so no problems printing fit to page here ;)

this build was printed at 50%. a small bird with all the trimmings.

well, it is not without flaws, but i am happy with my first attempt.

a word of caution to other newbies, the nose cone should be shaped a lot narrower at the top than at the bottom, I made the mistake of giving it an almost circular cross section, and ended up over compensating the error.....

Unfortunately, a lot of details were lost, but i think the next one should turn out better.

Eventually, I'd like to build a big one for my 3.75in vintage Matchbox Rick Hunter figer too.

If there is anything I can do to mend the bridges between Janx and the Admin and bring Janx back here, I would.

People, can't we work out our differences?

Anyway, I just read the forum policy and it seems we are not allowed to post links or email and stuff like that.

However, if you really want, you can find Janx simply by Googling, Google Serach is NOT a competing forum so I dont think I violated any rules here by saying that much

Email addresses are personal information and our policy is not to divulge such (although some members object to our policies) If someone would want to PM such information I don't see a problem but to post it in an open thread might be unwise (I don't know of a policy against doing that though) The member in question was banned for 10 days of which about a week remains. So I suppose it will be his decision whether to contribute here after that.

Hi!

Just wondering, I was able to download the files at the download section but when I try to open it with winrar, all I see are numbers and lot of number...

What am I doing wrong? Or rather does my PC lack the proper program to open it?

Help and thanks in advance!
