Janx, I would be happy to do that, the only thing I need is a size for the drawing itself. Your design is awesome, with the doors. There is a yellow and black area inside the doors that sits back inside the edge of the doors. I have a version I was working on that I'll send you an email if you PM your address to me. That will give you an idea of what it looks like, or at least what I think it looks like.:p

Thanks Steve0 :D

I got the micro misslie pods built againa s the previous ones were too big. I also got a GU-11 on the bottm of the Super Fighter (textured ver. this time). I had to print the pods and GU-11 in Black and white as my color ink is gone and the black isn't far off either :(

I had to notch and re-locate the back brace on the stand to accomidate the GU-11 but that was a minor fix :p

Yes the left Super pod is a bit crooked. It broke loose and I didn't monitor it closely enough while it was setting back :p

Janx we need to address the Supa Pod bracket's inherent weakness. I know how and will send a message ;)

Hope to get the Triple Missiles together tomorrow after work and Physical Therapy :(

Enjoy the pics. We're getting really close now :D :D :D

Steve0,

My thoughts exactally :p Even when I look at the plastic ones I heavily modified :p This is certianly a cheaper alternitive also ;)

To All,

I got good news :D Janx will start getting files up this Saturday!!! I don't know how many or in what order he has in mind so if there are any specific requests make em early so he has time to get organized.

Note the cockpit pages are not ready at this time as are a few more goddies planned but they will be released when done ;)

More good news for the VF/T-1D fans (such as Itla and myself), the D ver. cockpit is well underway. Below are pics of the pre-test unit. What I mean by "pre-test" is my hand drawn parts to test then after I figured what works and what needs to be changed I go int the part sheet and make a cleaner ver. The clean ver. is the actual test unit. Note in the pics the only hand unit is the rear seat section. The other components are from the final 1 seater page.

This one will work better and much easier than I had originaly thought. I guess we all get a break once in a while :D

Enjoy and make room on those hard-drives for this weekend :D :D :D

As a teaser for everyone following this thread, I think you have heard and seen the runblings of a stand for the Strike Valkyrie fighter to be released here on the forum. Janx has stepped aside in his designing of the stand due to a heavy work-load, and given me the go ahead to push on with my version. The second pic is of the old version, I have included it because it has a scale Super Valk to give you an idea of the size of the stand. Please realize this is my first model I have ever designed from scratch, there are a few problems I've come across that I don't know how to get around. Please be patient with me, I don't want to turn out a piece of junk no one wants to build! Janx has given me his arm design that I will incorporate into the stand. So there it is let me know what you think!

Here is a sneak peek:

Hey Itla,

You got it buddy ;) The D cockpit won't take too long to get finished.

I suggested Janx start with the J versions as they are where I seemed to start :D

As for the stand, one word............sexy :D

Valkyrie Stand

Well here are a couple more progress pics on the DYRL Launch Stand. One pic of the semi final version of the stand and arm, the second of the arm alone. I had to show off Janx's great work on the arm. A couple of more tweaks here and there then on to pep for unfolding.

Janx, thank you for the arm data! I would never have gotten quite as far on this stand if it wasn't for you!:thumb:

Hello All,

GOt some pix of the Test D Cockpit. I have a few minor adjustments to make and need to clean up the seats and it's a done deal :D

I had to reduce the seats by 10% as the 1st ones were a tad too big for the scale but I got em right this time :p

Hope the files get in the download section soon. Sorry there's been a delay :( It's out of my hands so I can't say when it will happen but it should be soon.

In the meantime I'll be working the x-tras, doo-dads, and doo-hobs :p

Stay posted :D

Valkyrie Stand

A bit of an update on the stand. I've redesigned the front of the stand, the old one looked too boxy to me. Both the arm and the stand have been unfolded in Pep and reworked (mostly) to my satisfaction. Although I might release the arm in two versions, the standard version as seen below, and a simplified version. The simplified version has yet to be started though. Before I can release the stand I need to finish my Strike Valk to see if the arm is the proper size to fit over the Strike armor properly. So unfortunately it'll be awhile before it's ready to go. With that said, on with the pics:

Gran trabajo ltla9000311 perfecto solo una pregunta: crees que soporte el peso de todo el modelo en modalidad, osea con todo los accesorios "Super VF" ,creo deberias diseñar y agregar algo para que refuerze la puerta del hangar, no lo crees asi?

Great job ltla9000311 perfect one question: you think that supports the weight of the whole model in form, with all accessories osea "Super VF," I should design and add some reinforcement to the door of the hangar, do not you think so?

I'm gonna say no. It still looks good though.

The weight of the finished model would need an arm stronger than card stock and the arm would have to be somehow mounted to the back plate in such a way that it would twist off while bearing the weight. That and you would have to affix the arm to the VF model too.

Like holding onto a large book with your arm stretched out.

Valkyrie Stand

Hey guys thanks for the observations. I did think about that at length as I designed this thing. While the original arm is very detailed, after printing a test page and looking at the size of the parts, I'm simpliying the arm to make it sturdier. As designed and scaled to approx 1/72 scale, it's gonna be too weak to handle the weight of the fighter. Now I have the original VT-1D, designed by Shunichi, fully built and it is very light. Granted it doesn't have the extra armor on it but the armor won't add that much weight. The arm will be glued on the underneath side of the door opening, and to the backdrop. Two different gluing surfaces to hold the weight of the fighter. The only spots I can forsee needing reinforcement are at the back of the backdrop behind where the arm glues, and where the front base glues to the back wall.
