USS Sulaco / Aliens

I'm wondering if it might not be a good idea to have a hole on all (large sections) corresponding faces, for injecting expansion foam as you build, for strength and stability?

Unfortunately, expansion foam is extremely hard to control in this situation. My fear is that it would not only deform the pieces but may even cause them to become very hot as it hardens. I don't know if the heat would actually do anything to the piece itself but I don't think I'd chance it considering the scope of this project.

PVC is a good option as was done with the 8' ISS build. Or, use cardboard formers inside of the larger pieces. To be honest, Jan is SO good that I don't really think anything will be necessary to reinforce the structure IMO. :-)

jawdropjawdrop OMG!! Sweet mother of all things holy! I showed this one to my wife and just promptly got told that there was no way in hell I was building that one....lol. I must find a bigger space to work in. Time to go house shopping I think...lol

Might be cheaper just to get a new wife.

would this be as impressive if it were made from ummmm . . . errrr . . . dare i say . . . plastic. i think not. think of the comments when you tell your friends . . . "it's paper".

is beautiful! How soon you think to finish the project? I love alien, and your projects are wonderful, make available to everyone even the Sulaco?

Can´t wait until this is released :thumb::thumb: A little off-topic question, Jan ( but in Aliens-range ). I sas visiting your homepage a little while a go and took a look at your "garbaged" projects. Have you any plans to re-open your project with the dropship in scale 1:25 ( ? ), the one that is matching your APC? It would be a blast if you did....

Thanks for all the beautiful models that you have made :wave::thumb::thumb: I love your work

Definitely stockpiling ink and paper for this project, just gotta find a place to hang it thats far enough outta reach from the kiddos. Thanks for yet another amazing build Mr. Rukr

I'm thinking that at this level it might be a good idea to use a professional printing service. I'm not sure I'd trust my hardware to give the quality that this deserves. I think the money would be well spent.

fiuhh..lots of reactions here:wave:

Finally...I´ve gued together the top railgun - probably the hardest part of the sulaco :-P
