Try to replace small parts with the skewer. I´ve used it specially for those rounded things (like bullets) on the top of the body of the railgun.:thumb:

hint no.1: Start with bigger part , then glue the small ones.

hint no.2: You don´t need to use all parts on the sheet. Remember, you don´t need part which will be hidden for visitor´s eyes. :twisted:

hint No 3. Some parts are too small for doing flaps somewhere in the model so it is time to use edge to edge glueing method.

If you succesfully complete this railgun, I can guarantee to you, that there is no such difficult part in the model anymore.:mrgreen:

I printed the parts on several paper thicknesses, starting at 80 g/sqm, then 90, 100, 120, 160 and 240.

I guess that way I will have the perfect stiffnes for all of them. I will use the most thin paper to cover up the mentioned skewers, that way you won't see that I "cheated" with them... :mrgreen:

Sorry for no update today at www.sulaco.cz.

After last update of my pages there were a storm and my computer died during it:curse:. The power source and a half of ram memory including their sockets on motherboard are gone....so I´ve moved my data from old ide discs and working on my netbook Asus eee (model 701).wall1...work is slow so...be patient with me and the sulaco parts.......END OF MESSAGE

there is no money for new pc, so ....I don´t know how long this situation wil be actual.

That's horrible! I had an electronics repair shop for 8 years. Power surges, sometimes just from someone hitting a telephone pole, knocking it down, would blow a whole streets worth of electronics. Surge protectors are the best investment you can ever get. I have them on everything and I have a dedicated line in the house with a Protector that grounds any surge in tenths of a second. It costs a couple of hundred dollars, but I have never lost anything o it in 6 years. I have my LCD ceiling front projector on that line and all my audio equipment.

There is a device called the 66 in 1 memory reader that I use when either fixing or recovering data from a hard drive. This unit has it's own power supply and every type of hard drive, IDE, SATA,eSATA, notebook mini-drives, all Flash cards, etc, plug into it, and you plug it into your USB port. It is an amazing tool and costs usually around $30 dollars! I made my money back about 20 times over recovering data with this thing.

Sorry to hear that, fortunatly i'm on the start of the project so much time to catch up with the current project state. Respect if you would like to continue on the 701, not very powerfull (had similar problem with a gone power source and had to use my 901 in meantime ). Hopfully you get a new computer in near future. Your Sulaco model is awesome, so please continue.

fortunatly i'm on the start of the project so much time to catch up with the current project state.

I have also plenty of parts to do at the moment. I'm still working on the antenna array... by the way, I want to share a little idea:

I was a bit anxious about bending the antennas when I will transport the kit to exhibitions once it is finished. Stiffening them with additional cardboard or wood can be problematically, too, because I learned it the hard way that such "sandwiches" tend to bend over time due to temperature and / or humidity fluctuations.

My solution: Rectangular carbon rods! Those will never bend ot break, and they are very light so the antennas won't sag:

Yesterday I built a transportbox for the bow out of styrofoam. This friday is a cardboard-modeler meeting here in my town and I want to display my work in progress:

The empty space will later be filled by all those antennas I still have to build.

Now I have 3 things to do:
1) Throw away all that damned minis and devote myself to paper and glue
2) build several training models
3) start work on sulaco

off course, I've to build another home to store the sulaco...

It is addicting isn't it!! This link (at the bottom) has a bazillion free models you can download and try, to get yourself used to the process. They have very simple, all the way up to, "who could possibly build that" models, and they are all FREE.:thumb: I also highly recommend you check out this thread, it has a list of all of Ron Caudillo's work, a Pillar in the community.
