Progress so far

Few points, 1 general, 2 specific to this model
  • I really recommend the little glue bottles from ebay with the 1.5mm tips. Brilliant for precision glueing (see pic, I was able to put a bead on the edge of a part with no spillage)
  • In one of the pics you'll see my craft knife, just showing that I introduced a cut at that point on the "backbone" to allow it to slope up the sacuser
  • The saucer top - some of the points are too long when you glue the ends together so.... Don't glue the ends toghers first, instead work arround from the front to the back so you can trim as needed

GREEEEEAAAAAAAT!!!! I think you are the first to tackle this model (after Paragon's alpha build). I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. :)

You know all the 12 ships as different styles in a tos format would be pretty darn exciting and interesting to make.

Evening Update

Few adaptions.
  • The shuttle bays did not fit where I assumed they went, in the backbone. So I adapted it to be in the backbone and over the ridge of the Hull
  • The impulse engine is physically to big to fit anywhere. So I cut it in two and put part either side of the Hull wing

I'm really enjoying this model and if there is a set of them wow

After a bit of searching i found some more Example images so have a better idea - glad i found them the Actuim looks nothing like what i thought it would!!

In my research i found that there was a Stand made for them all (pic here) - i can't find the file "ST XI Stand.pdf" anywhere - does anyone have it?

Update. Started on the Nacelles

Becareful with the parts that go on each end of the main body. If you glue them at the tab point they are too big to fit!

One thing I don't like - the aesthetics of the nacelle. This isn't a comment about the model, one about the Nacelles on some Kelvin Timeline ships. They don't have the colour in them like Prime Timeline ones and seem a bit bland - esp the bussard collectors!
