Up crash

I doubt they'll cut them up. The locomotives did encounter quite a drop, but if you've ever lived in that area.... The ground is exceptionally soft and forgiving. I suspect the locos didn't sustain as much damage as most people think. They're probably just mud-packed with some superficial wounds.

If they are in decent condition, I expect to see a road-based recovery. The road is closed for repairs anyway.

Edit: I just read the article and watched the video again. The fact that the fuel tanks weren't pucntured should give you an idea of the gentle decent they had.
 
They hauled the one at the bottom out on a lowboy trailer and pulled the other one back up the hill to the track and rerailed it and towed it away
