Im off work today trying to clean up some water in the basment after the heavy rains last night. Not a lot of water some seepage bad day right. What a mess. I really don't think they'll try to get them back up the hill. My guess is they'll bring in the torches, cut them up and haul them away by road.

I doubt they'll cut them up. The locomotives did encounter quite a drop, but if you've ever lived in that area.... The ground is exceptionally soft and forgiving. I suspect the locos didn't sustain as much damage as most people think. They're probably just mud-packed with some superficial wounds.

If they are in decent condition, I expect to see a road-based recovery. The road is closed for repairs anyway.

Edit: I just read the article and watched the video again. The fact that the fuel tanks weren't pucntured should give you an idea of the gentle decent they had.

They hauled the one at the bottom out on a lowboy trailer and pulled the other one back up the hill to the track and rerailed it and towed it away
