UNSC Pillar of Autumn

So... i've started the work on the UNSC Pillar of Autumn (Rockeman's model).
I had to stop halfway as i was tired and could not cope anymore with the repetitive tasks of building the engines.
Just like the "Forward unto Dawn" model, nu gluing tabs are present in the model so i "draw" my own ones - something to take into consideration when building the model.
There are some elements in the kit that i could not find on Rocketman's finished model such as "forward thruster caps" and "tertiary engines" (which could be added based on the original model, although not 100% accurate).

First set of pictures - the main body (aft/mid section): unfolded, glued with bulkheads and fully assembled.

Last picture - the engine parts cut and prepared for gluing (to be done tonight) - this where i stopped.
After this, minor details are to be added - mainly armor sections and the stand

You are off to a great start and making really good progress.
There is noting wrong with taking breaks in the middle of a build. I do it all the time. So, do not worry about it. I too get frustrated with builds that I have worked on. Taking a break is a great way to clear your mind and later take a fresh look at the model and what the problem or issue was that was frustrating you.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

i'm back!

so here are the engines (cut, assembled and mounted on the main body)
next in line were the armors - 4 pieces (cut and mounted on the main body)

The last details of the ship were the fins (2 pairs, again: cut, assembled and glued on the model)

And the model itself, in all it's glory (pictures 3 & 4).
The last picture is a retouch of the dorsal armor above the main engines - initially i glued it flush with the engine but it should have been a bit raised, so i printed that part again and added on top of the old one.

I will also build the stand, but starting this afternoon i'm unavailable so expect the fully finished model my mid-next week

Great job. You made a very interesting model, that looks very strong, strong enough for a kid to ply with (not that I suggest that), but it looks like it will stand the test of time.

so i'm back to finish the model (actually the stand) - first 2 pictures.
I forgot to take a picture of the unfolded parts but it's not a big loss (trust me ) - only basic shapes.

If you use the link for "Box", and click on "Download" in the upper right corner, you will get the model. This model relies heavily on graphics, and is a series of boxes, but because of the detail, multiple printing of pages, and a careful study of pictures could yield an outstanding model.
