All,
I found a HO Bachmann Union Pacific M - 32 railmotor, yellow body, grey roof, red decals. (maybe called a doddle bug??) superbly weigthed, and detailed for $35 second hand. I got it because it really resembles the Victorian Railways DERM of the 40's - 60's. (Diesel Electric Rail Motor) Note the arched single window, the side cargo doors, and the side roof ladder together with exhaust etc on the front roof. The UP M - 32 looks similar to these. (actual VR DERMs)
The model in the pic is a kitbashed bachmann "doddle bug" in N scale.
I want to re do the livery into the blue/yellow of the Victorian Railways of the era or Garahbara.
However, I cannot get the case off. I don't want to push it too hard in case I break the detailing (steps, handrails, ladders, windshield wipers etc.., or worse, crack the body) Does anyone have one of these, and give me any hints how to get the case off?????
Thanks,
TOOT!
