#3 gets my vote also. You can scale it up a bit bigger and seal the model in there with a Lexan bent front, and Lexan sides. Dust proofing it. It is quite nice. 

I have to say that I like #3 the best! I think that it is a great way to showcase the model. I may do the same thing with a few of my models in the future.

The rangers have less parts but an intricate shape, and it was tricky keep symmetry and avoid the twisting.

Finally all the components of the central hub can go together, and they form a impressive ensemble, so strictly packed that i think that the docking maneuver was very hard.

Now all the components of the model are ready for the final assembly and the view is already impressive, at least for me: i can admire the amount of work done so far.
