Exhaust nozzle is completed and I am going on with the inner ring which holds the nozzle assembly and some small parts. Parts for the next step (some detailing around the engine) are cut out and waiting for edge coloring...
I think I am off for some geocaching now
Homestretch would be said a bit to early but...
its raining out here so the final glueing stretch for today
Main engine compartment is finished. exhaust nozzle completed and mounted. Small parts are fabricated and glued to the model.
Well at least it turns out to be a beauty when this bird is finished I guess...
Looking forward to the next steps. Maybe I will cut out some parts later
It sems like you have the hardest parts done, I could be wrong, but it does look great! I don't think the ones inn the show looked this good. They started looking pretty banged up by the end!
Thank you for your kind words, mates...
Just got a bit closer to the finish... Mounted the two side nozzle pods and thought they do not sit 100% perfect they hide most of the faulty stuff i mentioned. Overall I am very content with this step
A small update. I worked a bit on the Thruster housings. Instead of the glueing tabs Uhu created I decided to butt glue the housings. Was a bit fiddly but at least it worked.
Next step is to complete the thrusters (parts are already cut and edge colored) and the the engine section is finished. As you can see on the last pic the part number decreases very fast. Only one page of parts is left and the most work seems to be done.
many small parts later...
The engine compartment is finished. Front and rear thrusters have been installed.
The next step will be the tactical nuke in the nose of the interceptor.
Getting more and more proud of the results I produce
Thank you Zathros
Today I am working on the wings and struts just to complete the underside of the Interceptor. Wings are mounted and strut parts are cut out and edge colored.
The "reinforcements" on the wings in the strut area are mounted too.
Wonderful! I'm enjoying this build like if it was mine!
You are such a constant poster that now we need some update every day...
...and you give us exactly what we want!
Thank you Chris!
Thank you, Tonino for your kind words. You are very welcome. I will have some extra time for building the next time since I am "reorienting" my job
At the moment the glue on the skids is drying out and I am printing the new canopy so the old wrinkled one gets away quickly.
Will post some pics later
Everything looks great. You are doing a fantastic job. You're right that getting rid of tabs is fiddly and takes time, but it's worth it to get that smooth seam. Nice work!
Finished the landing Gear and removed the canopy. I hope I can form the new canopy that it is held by the tiny magnets (visible on the last pic)
Now for the final stretch... Finishing the new Canopy and building up the missing things on top
After completing the tail section and the skids and redoing the canopy the bird is finalised.
Well for the first build of a model from Uhu02 I think this bird goes not so bad.
I learned many lessons and I am looking forward to my next build though I did not choose yet what I will start to do
@McTschegsn Let me be the first to congratulate you on a brilliant model build. :Bravo:
You have certainly done it justice!!!!
UHU02 will be proud to see your build, I'm sure. thumbsup
As you said, you have learnt a lot from this build, and that is the most important: Learning and having fun at the same time.
Well done!!! thumbsupthumbsup
I'm looking forwards to seeing what you have got next up your sleeve.
