Hi Folks!! I'm a little giddy today. (As some of you know, I'm building a somewhat freelance version of the NYCs line from Buffalo to Batavia, NY in or about 1950.)
Today the main line was completed. I now have continuous run from lower level to upper level and back again at various speeds with zero derailments. (crossing fingers........) Have run trains of varying lengths and speeds all day with success and am optimistic about the future! Gary Pfeil is the chief reason this layout looks and performs this well so far. It was his input from early on that saw what I was trying to do and thru ink and paper, transformed that into reality. I'm not that much of a carpenter, and without a "real" wood working area, I was still able to come up with benchwork that is sturdy and sound if not pretty!
I still have a ton of stuff to do though and am eager to get back at it. I need to hit the lumber yard for enough masonite for a double sided back drop and fascia. Got to lay track on an upper level passing siding. Got an entire freight yard to put in place and wire for cab control (Yes I still use old fashioned Atlas components!!! Let me get a real MRR up and running and me and the wallet will THINK about DCC
)
Engine facilities and a round house will follow...a brewery to build...dairy barn...structure lighting.........on........and.......on.........and.......................ON!!
Happy RRing to all!!
