(TOS) Colonial Viper (MK-I)

I recently received a request that I build the Colonial Viper (from the original series) from an old friend (who has been asking me to build it for him for several years now). So, I have decided to build the Viper that @Revell-Fan designed. I will be adding quite a bit of detail and greebles.

I printed the templates three times so that I can obtain the level of details and greebling that I want.


I started with the cockpit interior.


I raised the control panels and recessed the screens.






Here is the seat.


Here is the joystick.




The joystick is attached to the mount. I raised the rectangle that is in front of the joystick.




Here are the components for the cockpit interior.


Starting to assemble the tub.










The seat is in place


The joystick assembly is in place. The cockpit interior is complete.

Thank you! No, I will not have seat belts on this. However, I think that seat belts should have been put on the original model.

Too right you are! I seriously think that if the original Viper were to be built by todays standards, there were be quite a few changes.

Minor update!

Here are the parts for the front part of the fuselage.


Here is the inside cone. I decided to recess the black circle.


Here are the side inserts.


I raised some of the printed texture and give it a more "realistic" look to it (even though they will be hiding behind the laser canons).


The inserts are complete.


Here is the body of the front fuselage.


The body of the front fuselage is complete. I attached the inserts and added a few greebles.
(The rest of the photos in this post just show the greebling that I added tot he fuselage. As you will see I raised some panels and recessed a few others.)
