Hello Ladies and gentlemen,

Well a few months ago, I built the TOS Battlestar Galactica from Gearz.

I do have to say that it is a very good model. Very straight forward build. I did not have any problems, although I did add a few extra formers in certain areas that i thought needed the extra support.

It is a good model for those who want a little extra challenge (with the extra greebles that are added on the aft section), and if you are the type of person who likes to add even more detail, you can follow the texture and make more detail and add it with very little problem.

ENJOY!!!

It was an enjoyable build. I might (when I have to time) go through and add more greebles, I am still thinking about that though.
I know that it will be no where near Ekuth's Galactica, but like I said before, it was a fun build.

Is that a custom stand? I like it alot more the the version I have. Oh, and great job! I noticed you flipped the landing bays...more like the sci fi series.

Thank you. The stand id one of Gearz, that I just made B&W.
I guess, I did flip the landing bays. Oh well, if I build it again, I will fix it then.

Great build, RB! :thumb::thumb::thumb: Nice and clean.

If you hadn't mentioned the flipped bays, I wouldn't have noticed that. Correcting the bays shouldn't be too difficult. I recommend doing it, because you will always know that there is a mistake. It makes you look at it as long as it's not fixed and could drive you crazy (believe me, I know it from experience; I flipped the couplings on my Gemini! wall1).

Looking forward to seeing the extry detailing! Keep it up! CU!:wave::wave:

Nice build RB. Very clean.

I have this part built, but it's got a green tint to the pattern, bad printing by me, so I stopped the build. I will rebuild it some day.

Thank you all for the kind words. I had fun building her.
I do eventually plan on rebuilding her and correcting the problems as well as adding a few more greebles.

Paulhbell: Good luck with your build. I look forward to seeing photos.

mine

Hope you don't mind me putting this in your thread.

This is the build I did that had a green tint to the sheets. It don't look to bad in the photos, but it is green'ish. I got as far as building all the parts for her, then decided I wasn't happy with the colour. I might just finish the build then rename it.

I do not mind at all.
Granted, it may be a bit greenish, but it looks really good. You did an amazing job on the build. By all means finish it out.

Rhaven, your model looks so square and true. Amazing really. I was a machinist for 16 years and like to think I have an eye for that. Most impressive indeed.

Paul, finish the model, it looks great, you have come this far, go for it!!

Nice build, I like it a lot. I may have to take a crack at it myself. What are the dimensions on it once it's fully assembled?

Very very well build. It like a plastic one.

Great gob

Have you try to do the Galactica from the new series ?

Thank you for the compliment, and the link to your website.
I will be building the new Galactica, but I have a full plate right at the moment. So it will be a while before I get to it.

Fixed landing bays

Not trying to necropost, but I finally got around to fixing the landing bays.
I do plan on rebuilding the old girl eventually, but I do have other projects that I have to do first.
Here are the photos for your viewing pleasure.
