Toronto's John Street Roundhouse (railway museum) will be open to the public on May 24-25 as a Toronto "Doors Open" event.
I'm really looking forward to this. I've gone there during recent years (previous Open Doors events) but this year should be extra-special because TRHA members have made good progress at this Canadian railway museum.
Not only will the turntable be functional, but there will be live steam models running outdoors (that you can ride on) as well as a model railway show inside the roundhouse. I believe you can also tour the roundhouse and see all the recent developments and restoration projects, see the turntable operating, not to mention seeing the roundhouse's diesel switcher.
And, if it's like previous years, you should be have to enjoy free beer samples from the Steam Whistle Brewery!:mrgreen:
I'm planning to attend on the Saturday morning with my young sons and strongly recommend visiting this year.
