To be somewhat Enterprising....

I've been toying with the idea of building a copy of each version of the USS Enterprise, and, due to a variety of reasons I never got around to it.

Since I have already built the E I'm taking this as a given The idea is to build in chronological order, so I'm starting with the NX-01. All models are going to be 1/2 scale due to space constraints

A word of warning, I'm not going to build the Enterprise refit, I don't see the point when the A is exactly the same (externally, at least ) I'm after the progression of design

So, of we go the lower section of the NX-01

1/2 scale?

Whether 112meters or 144 meter long, when made of paper, that WILL be impressive!

@THE DC , 1/2c scale as in templates are reduced by 50%

Ok, first snag. The template didn't come with formers/supports, so having to work these in. I've restarted the saucer now building inside out instead of outside in.

The instructions in the template are not that clear, a but of "surgery" is required. I had to snip the opening at the bottom of the picture to get the hull lines to match.

I have to say, even though I watched every episode of Enterprise I'm finding things on this model that I never noticed in the show!

A couple of small gaps to cover, but I'll get there. I'm also using a strip/edge glue method, not a tab is sight!

I really liked the NX-01, it made sense, as far as Sci-Fi goes, and in relation to Star Trek.
