I just want to say that I am of the opinion that we have some of the most kind, generous, creme de la creme, people on this forum. I sincerely appreciate how easy you guys make this. The only thing hard around here is chasing down spammers. ALL OF YOU make this easy, and I Thank You for that, from the bottom of my heart! :) :thumb::goldcup::inw:

I've got to say that as a moderately seasoned nomad of the wide blue interwebs, this is probably the most welcoming and helpful community that I've ever encountered. Three cheers for everyone, and a fourth cheer for Zathros! Thanks for your work moderating the forums and stemming the spam tide!

Absolutely agree with above respondents. This is one of the few sites I try to check out daily.

You're on a good path, Zathros :)

Great video clip. I found it entertaining, especially his comparison about flight training, heading in one direction to get to another to compensate for the forces that can throw one of course. Crabbing is so important in flying, and in everyday life. I see many people here take the high road, and make the best out of situations that end up being good because of a general mindset in this forum. People here share, and generously. They ask great questions a d give great answers. I think this forum has turned into a place that one can feel comfortable in. I try to do my part, but it is the membership that keeps the forum so pleasant. We have a lot of new members lately, and they seem to be the same way. I guess we attract people who are like minded. This is far more than building card models, This forum offers much more than just that. I hear this from many people too. :)

(Ekuth is the one was able to create the environment, and the members are the ones who turned it around, in all honesty) :)

I Love this Forum. a few years ago, I was in the bathroom with my son knocking on the door and asking what I was doing, I told him I was building an airplane (he was 5 at the time) He thought I was serious.....and now, thanks to this forum, and others like it, I am now Legit. I can actually build an airplane in my Bathroom if I want.

Thanks for helping me not be a Liar guys. You are all my Friends. :)

Geez, I've hidden in the bathroom too but saying "I was building an airplane" never crossed my mind! I may have to borrow that one.

On the computer, I tell my wife, "I'm studying anatomy". She never buys that. I'll have to try the paper plane "reason" next! :p:twisted:

I can't comment overly much as I'm still wet behind the ears around here. However, so far I've learned a goodly amount in regards to construction of card models, and found a great deal of inspiration from other members posts.

Of course there are also some very daunting models posted which make me feel like a child in regards to spreading glue with a three inch brush to stick things together.

The generosity of members is quite something, and reminds me of the early days of 3DCG when models, techniques and information were shared by enthusiasts - before it became overly commercialised and everybody and their dog started selling things.

I have also seen some amazing commercial models that I would love to buy, but are so far above my skill level I wonder if there's sufficient life left to learn enough.

---

So, a heartfelt thanks to those who contribute with free models I can tinker with, and those who contribute their knowledge and skills.

I have been building card models (off and on) for many years now (I know that I still have alot to learn though). For the longest time I thought that I was the only one that did this kind of model building. I would talk to my friends about it, and their general response was "OH, that's nice, but why would you and to build models out of cards?" I would (of course) explain what card modeling is, and they would respond with "OH, that is nice." Fore the longest time, I did not know anyone that was at all (even remotely) interested in this hobby.
It was not until I stumbled on this site (while doing research on the Thunder Fighter) that I realized just how many people do in fact build models out of card stock.

I can not even begin to thank all of the people (to include you Zathros) that have made me feel so welcome and have helped me grow in and enjoy this hobby so very much. I have learned more in the sort few years that I have been a member of this site, then I learned on my own trying to teach myself just how to take something I like and turn it into a model that I can truly enjoy.

In closing, really all that I can say to you (and everyone here), THANK YOU EVERY MUCH for all of the hard work in maintaining such a wonderful forum. I (fore one) greatly appreciate all that you and Ekuth have done with this forum. I am greatly honored to be a member of such a wonderful forum.

Thank you
