Thanks for posting this! I've been working on some tress ala Shamus, and have been wracking my brain as to how to make the transition from tree to ground and make it look realistic. Will have to try this soon!

Combing the two tecniques should make an excellent tree! I would try white sculpey and paint the whole thing at once after baking. You can wrap the wood in foil to protect it, no need with oak dowel inthe stumps tho. Perhaps you could try a Carlesberg roller
