The Monster -- USS Enterprise NCC1701 Refit 1:200 Scale

My wife was "peeved" that I said, "Honey, you have to look at this", she just walked over, and had to look at all of the pictures, (she also fell in love with your daughter, that wasn't hard though). So you have the wife's adulation for your child, and incredulous admiration for your skill and perseverance. :)
 
Rhaven Hello and good day good friend. THANK you so much. Man without delving too much into the unnecessaries here, I apologize for the long hiatus. It has been a very long very hard past half year. I will send you a PM with a bit more of why the long disappearance and inactivity here. I know it was a bit sudden and the sudden part was due to my crashing my computer, which I still to date have not replaced, so that is also a part of the reason for the long stretch of silence as I am even now using the computer at work on a hurried break.
The other part is for painful personal reasons which i will not trouble anyone with here but I will PM you in the next day or two with a bit more back story.
Thank you again for the very kind welcome back and accepting my apology for the Houdini act for awhile. I will try to make a more concerted effort to be more regular where and when I can until I get a new computer of some kind. :-)))

Wow, I can't help but feel that it will be larger in person. How tall is your daughter, or more specifically how long is that model? Is there a weight of it? This truly looks like it could have been a studio model back in the days of TOS and TNG, before CGI became the norm.
 
That model looks so perfect, and like the D.C. wrote, the details is so impressive, and that sometimes gets far more difficult when going bigger! :)
 
That's an amazing build! It would take up half my living room, but I might be willing to make the sacrifice! ;)
 
I personally loath tabs and using glue when joining parts so as much as possible i get label stickers and use them where I can cut to the right size. That stops and glue marks and gives a clean edge to any joint as the sticker already has glue that is not detrimental to paper. Sometimes I found that glue makes the card moist and allows it to warp which stickers don't. Also with the stickers being white they cant be seen even if there is a tiny gap where clear tape would show the gap. Also tape under the card and no tabs gives extra smooth joints especially for the dishes.

Where I use heavy card to provide structure its just a matter of ensuring the card fits exactly to the shape by sanding it down and then a small amount of glue on the card former and into the card design usually works.

Thanks good tip. The label stickers must be strong, what type, as there might be a diffence to label stickers here in Australia. Also did you do some sort of help file to put this monster together.

Any label stickers would be fine, just smooth them down after sticking them as that creates a much tighter bond to the paper. I haven't done a help file for this monster as I used the instructions from the standard 1:400 scale model, only difference is this one is much bigger.
