Thanks everyone. Glad you like it.
I just discovered I forgot one thing-- I have a steering column to put in , you can't see it in the pictures ,but the steering linkage you can see is connected to a steering box, it needs a column attached to it. Nothing fancy, just a finish nail painted, the head looks like the "collar" of a steering column without the wheel. Hey ---ya use what works!
In an ongoing effort to destroy EVERY 1 /64 th car I can get my hands on here are a few pics of progress on a couple others & a shot of my next victim.
The first is the 40 ford cpe I showed earlier, got a bit more done, the caved in roof has got to be faired in to look right. there is a picture of the rear end i built for it & a picture of one in progress that will be a dissasembled one , the outer housing on one side gone, If any of you have ever been inside an early Ford banjo rear end you will see it's about right. Just need the axle shaft sticking out of it.
This is the start of another Hudson pickup--- YES Hudson made such a truck.
Then I'm going to do the Lincoln, first thing will be to take the top off & build a frame for the top so I can put on a tattered top. I'm not sure if I will create a lot of damage or perhaps have it just "run out" & being a FANTASTIC find for some restorer ---- any body want to vote on that or wrecking it ? announce1
I have not yet worked up to be able to take a cutoff disk to the 54 Merc Sun Valley .
OK --- Here is a convetible top frame built, this one is to fit a 40 ford, that cars top came off easier than the Lincoln so I decided to try the idea out before I tore the Lincoln up.
Steamhead : Sometimes it ain't easy, believe me!!
As far as the Merc--- Would it help if I told you I have two of them?
On top of that , I also have a 55 pontiac, a 53 olds, a 54 chev, a 50 Ford, a 55 Dodge & a 55 Chrysler all made by the same people & just as nice that I will have to screw up the moxy to tackle!! By the way I have two of all of them ,so ONE of each can be left alone to admire as is. That help any?
