Brakie, I've seen one of those grey NS engines around here off and on. It's in the 9800 range if I remember right. I wonder what is up with that? All the warning stencils are in place as well as all markings. Curiouser and curiouser....
Michael,Those units are still in the primer paint..NS puts new locomotives into service and paints them when ever they get around to it..Kinda like buying a undec engine slapping on our railroad's name and putting it into service on our layouts and painting it when we feel like painting.
Brakie, thanks for the answer. I was wondering if maybe they were finally chainging their paint scheme and start washing their equipment for a change. I guess not!
The only time they are clean is when they come from the dealer and when they get a new paint job. I haven't seen a clean piece of equipment in a long time.
Great photo's Larry. Maybe the NS should rehire some of the old Rock Island Railroad painters!? The Rock spared no man power or expense to paint their locomotives (and rolling stock!)sign1 sign1
