Like I said about the structure itself, this was very challanging and very rewarding to make.
I've never 'made' 10 & 15 ft trees before.
I've never planted 10" grass before, one blade at a time
Thanks for all the good comments.Pictures on Saturday!! (it's only on my friends layout to inspire him to get going on his unfinished residential section )
Speaking of weathering, I was trying to weather the 'paper' brick on the main building. Dry brushing didn't work, no surfaces for the paint to catch onto. The india ink 'washes' would not wash the surface, they just wicked right in.
Chalk weathering,... that is one thing that I haven't tried yet. I've been reading alot about it, so It must be time to pick some up and give it a wirl
One thing I forgot to mention, putting those trees and bushes around the cottage. When you use aroma therapy dish soap to mix with the white glue, the trees not only look real, they 'smell' real too!!
Be sure to do it on scrap paper till you get it the way you want. You CAN'T wash it off paper to easy!
Hey, that would be neat, a forrest you can really smell!!!
